Behind the Wraith

There’s a real man behind all of this.

I keep parts of my life private on purpose. You don’t need my name, my face, or my history to know something true about the man who built RideWraith.

You just need to know I’ve lived.

I’ve known what it’s like to worry about where I’d sleep, and I’ve stayed in places most could never afford. I’ve gone without, and I’ve sat at tables most people wait years to get a seat at. I’ve worked with my hands, and I’ve worked across a table in a suit. I’ve stood in front of street art on the side of a forgotten building and been struck the same way I’ve been struck by masterpieces I’ve flown across the world to see.

I’ve loved well. I’ve loved badly. I’ve stayed too long, and I’ve walked away too soon. I’ve come closer to death more times than I’d like to admit. Sometimes because life put me there. Sometimes because I put myself there.

Somewhere along the way I collected tattoos, scars, stamps in a passport, and more stories than I’ll ever tell all the way through.

I’m considerably more interested in the stories than the résumé.

Maybe that’s what makes me hard to put in a box. Tattooed and on two wheels, reading romance novels. Comfortable at the expensive table, just as comfortable alone with a fire and good scotch. Strength and softness, in the same man, on purpose. At home in the back table of a low-lit pub as much as anywhere else… never much for small talk, always in for the conversation that actually goes somewhere.

RideWraith grew out of all of it. Not one story, one app, or one book. A place for what I create, and for the people who find something of themselves here.

The stories may be fiction.

The man behind them isn’t.

Wraith carries pieces of me because I created him from things I know, things I’ve lived, things I believe, and probably a few things I’m still figuring out.

You don’t need to know everything about me.

But what I choose to tell you here will always be true.
